Who we are
The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung (hbs) is one of the political foundations in Germany headquartered in Berlin. Hbs understand itself as a think tank for green visions and projects that provide a platform for international cooperation and dialogue. While maintaining close ties with the German Green Party (Alliance 90/The Greens), hbs works independently and nurture a spirit of intellectual openness.
The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung’s mission in China is to contribute to an informed and constructive dialogue between China and Germany as well as Europe. We pursue this through initiatives in the areas of ecology and sustainable development, climate change and energy policy, social developments, and China’s role in global governance. In cooperation with governmental departments, think tanks, academic institutions, and civil society organizations, we provide space for dialogue, conduct and support research, and share knowledge.
The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung in China has been working with its partners since 2006 and has been registered as Beijing Representative Office in 2017. Worldwide, hbs maintains more than 30 international offices.
